Enable Check in and Check out in SharePoint List

Question

Can I enable check in and check out functionality for SharePoint list item as we did in SharePoint document library?

I can't find any option to do that! Am I missing something? Is there any workaround to do the same check in and check out functionality for list item in SharePoint ?

No, you can't! Check-in and checkout are only available in SharePoint document library, not available in the SharePoint list!

Workaround
