I have added a custom web part to a sharepoint page and it throws an error message "Sorry, something went wrong".

How to remove the web part from the broken page?

Web part Maintenance Page in SharePoint

When your SharePoint page crashes due to faulty web parts, a web part maintenance page can be a real lifesaver.

To access the web part maintenance mode that offers close, reset, delete functionalities on web parts, follow these steps:

  • Navigate to the problem page’s URL
  • At the end of the URL add ?contents=1
  • Choose the broken web part by checking the box and clicking Delete

After these steps, your page should open properly and the web part has been deleted successfully.

If you don’t ask, the answer is always NO!
