What's Project Cortex?
Project Cortex is a new AI-powered service in Microsoft 365 that helps your organization to build a knowledge network from your organization’s structured and unstructured content.
Project Cortex can recognize content types, extract important information, and automatically organizing it into topics and turning your content into an interactive knowledge repository.
Project Cortex is currently in private preview, it will be released in the first half of 2020.
How Does Project Cortex work?
Project Cortex collects content that is created and shared every day in Microsoft 365 securely.
Then, it categorizes the content based on its type and tags that extracted from the metadata.
Technically, it's advanced cognitive services that capture content, extract information, and automatically tag this content.
Project Cortex builds on Microsoft Graph intelligence !
Image and text recognition
Identify objects in scanned or uploaded images based on an understanding of over 10,000 attributes and extract text from images and PDFs.
Forms processing
Enables you to pinpoint important information in forms and extract that information as metadata.
Machine teaching
lets experts train the AI to recognize information in unstructured documents, such as contracts, proposals, or training materials, which might have varied content and formatting.
